When you visit www.caasco.com without registering or otherwise interacting with the site, your personal information and email address are not recorded. CAASCO provides a number of benefits and services via www.caasco.com, many of which are exclusive to our Members. To access these services, CAASCO requires you to identify yourself. CAASCO uses cookies to identify you as a registered and/or returning visitor. (Cookies are files sent from a website to a visitor's computer.) Session and permanent cookies are used. These cookies entitle Members to enter 'Member Exclusive' areas of the site and also to 'Welcome Back' Members with pre-established Member Exclusive privileges. Pages visited are tracked but no private information about you is collected. This data is used for generation of statistics and to personalize future visits or communications.
We use the information you have provided to help us serve you better. By adding your name to our e-mail subscriber's list on our Website, you authorize CAASCO to send you personalized messages from time to time. These messages contain valuable information about services and benefits offered by CAASCO and its partners that we think may be of interest to you. Although we sometimes offer products and services jointly with our partners, we do not disclose your e-mail address or other personal information to these partners. Instead, the e-mails are sent by us or by a third party specialized in mailing list treatment, with which a confidentiality agreement has been signed beforehand. When you leave our web site
This policy discloses the privacy practices for our Website. However, our site contains links to other sites. Once you link to another site, you are subject to the privacy and security policies of the new site. What is "Remember me?"

CAA South Central Ontario uses 2 types of cookies:
- Session cookies only last while you are on that particular website and
- Persistent cookies are written to your hard drive and can remain there permanently or until it reaches its pre-assigned expiry date.
How does CAA use persistent cookies?
Our primary use of cookies is to make our site easier for you to use. Upon detection, your cookie entitles you access to virtually all of the Member or Guest areas on the site.
Registered users who have a cookie on their computer do not have to login with one exception; a user doing an online transaction will be requested to login. This allows us to know who within a family is doing the transaction.
We also use cookies to track website visits, transmit potentially useful information, and personalize your future visits to the website. Our cookies do not capture your individual email address or any private information about you. However, we may use the information provided on a consolidated basis for statistical and survey purposes and to improve our website for our users.
CAA may also use persistent cookies to remember what information has been presented to you so you don't see it again. For example, if we communicate information to you through a pop-up message or temporary message, a persistent cookie will make sure that you only have to see the information once, rather than having to see it every time you visit our website.
What cookies cannot do
Cookies cannot read your hard drive or access files and information stored on your computer. We will not store any personal information such as name, address or credit card number.
Do I have to accept cookies?

What is phishing and how can you avoid it?
"Phishing" is a practise used by online criminals to try to obtain your personal information, your username and password or PIN. Phishers pretend to be someone they're not and they usually strike through email, phone or instant messaging masquerading as a legitimate business.
To avoid becoming a victim of phishing, be on your guard. Treat any unexpected or suspicious emails or phone calls with caution. Do not provide sensitive information by email, phone or via a suspicious web site.
CAA South Central Ontario does not send emails asking you to provide your personal information.
