We asked you tell us what steps you’re taking to drive ‘greener’ and lessen your environmental impact.
Congratulations to Narjis and Jerry Phillips, CAA Members for 28 years, who provided us with the winning entry:
WE NEED TO DO MORE
The world has only finite resources
We must stop taking these for granted
We all must alter our destructive courses
And combine our intellectual sources
To preserve this earth the way we all want it.
But,
We still need to do more.
Our vehicle is small and easy on petrol,
And we car-pool whenever we can,
No Sunday drives for us: rather a family stroll.
Of drive-throughs there should be a ban
And, instead of air-conditioning, opt for the fan.
But,
We need to do more.
We change our oil and rotate our wheels
And keep our vehicle in good repair
We ride our bikes just to know how it feels
To have sun on our face and wind in our hair.
We drive the car less as our eco share.
But,
We need to do more.
We must teach by setting a living example
By showing our children and neighbours
That opportunities for protection are ample
and set before them an easy sample
Of results from our conservation labours.
But,
We need to do more.
