CAA uses Safety-Kleen’s “EcoPower”, a recycled and re-refined oil, at all its CAA Car Care Centres. EcoPower oil is great for your vehicle and good for the planet.
More than 50% of our Approved Auto Repair Service (AARS) Facilities and all of our CAA Car Care Centres send their used oil to Safety-Kleen for recycling.
EcoPower re-refined oil is better for the environment because it:
Re-refining motor oil reduces the need to tap limited virgin crude resources and allows environmentally conscious motorists the opportunity to “close the loop” by recycling used motor oil and purchase re-refined oil. Every year, Safety-Kleen returns more than 140 million gallons of used oil to the marketplace as clean, pure motor oil.
Is re-refined oil as good as regular motor oil?
Both virgin and re-refined oil products must meet the same standards. EcoPower exceeds these standards.
What is the re-refining process? Is the oil just cleaned? Is it chemically reformulated?
The process of refining used oil is the same as refining virgin crude oil. Both go through the basic processes such as dehydration, vacuum distillation and hydro treating. At the conclusion of the re-refining process, the product is chemically altered in the same manner as a virgin product. The end product is identical and must meet the same specifications.
How long will re-refined oil last?
Re-refined oil lasts as long as regular oil.
Can EcoPower be used in hybrid vehicles?
Most hybrids can use EcoPower. The gasoline internal combustion engine in a hybrid vehicle is the same as a regular vehicle's. Check your vehicle owner's manual for the specific recommendation for your vehicle.
