Description?? Haha. Three years running, and still not much done. Its a shame to pay taxes so high and get nothing in return. Shame on our municipal government. Almost impossible to drive my small car or a motorcycle safely. Potholes, dips, cracks. Parhaps they should just dig up the pavement and oil like Bradley road.

I can't think of anything to add.

Lots of potholes, many cracks that keep spreading and just get band-aided over year to year, as well lots of asphalt breaks into pieces and can be quite hazardous. Unsafe to roller blade as sections of road are too rough and choppy, and truly quite dangerous. Spring frost yearly seems to worsen the road as such major heeving in sections can cause serious vehicle damage.

Yearly deterioration of road leaving many potholes and open surfaces as well as many chunks of asphalt litters roadway on daily occurence. Many cracks that have been band-aided, however never properly replaced over time.

More whoops than a roller coaster.

I travel on Steels Ave. and it has nothing on that trauil.

Vermilion Lake Road must be Ontario's worst road. I have traveled in each of Canada's Province's and many states in the U.S.A. but have never before driven on such a poorly maintained road.

The worst twp. road at it's worst state is better than that trail.

All of Sudbury is a complete mess. Patch jobs aren't done properly so the problems just get worse the next year. In the spring there was a couple a holes that would do extreme damage, one was actually 3 1/2 - 4 feet in diameter. I DARE anyone from Toronto to drive on the roads in Sudbury...lol

I am so glad I don't have to travel that horrible road daily like my cousin.

I do a lot of traveling in my job and I have yet to see a worse road than Vermilion Lake Road.

I travel any road Just for a ride on my bike the worst ride is getting to the Hwy. from there it is smooth sailing. Even a gravel road is more inviting.

Pot holes grow bigger with each and every heavy rainfall. Repairs are made usually within 1 month. Pot holes are very challenging to my Chev pick up. (Actually shocks & Suspensions can't keep up.....Chev's new ad campaign should be based from this Hwy # 537........Wouldn't this look good in the Globe & Mail newspapers, Chev challenges Dodge & Ford trucks to test their suspension on this Hwy) Jean "minus $700 suspension repairs" Filion

There is @ 1 Km. out of 8 of good road. The rest is truly ONTARIO'S WORST ROAD.

The section of the road mentioned has mega-undulations and pot-holes which test even the stiffest of suspensions. A major problem for the last 8 years!!!

It's almost like bumper cars, because every time you hit a bump your whole car feels the impact.

Construction has cut so many patches in the road from the top of 144 all the way into Levack where it turns into Nickel St. Patches cut out everywhere, old patches crumbling and opening into big pot holes. The entire East Bound lane is full of patches, old patches, pot holes, cracks all over in the road. Plus the stupid construction companies seem to half finish a job and go on to the next job leaving a destruction path right to where they seem to currently be working. I am just fed up with construction jobs half done out here in Onaping and Levack leaving bumps, holes and leaving a bunch of unfinished job sites in on or around the highway.

The "Pothole Patrol" truck (no really, it's named that, like the condition of the regional roads is a big joke) comes out and fills about 10 holes in a day which is about 2 metres of road. We broke the leaf spring on our camping trailer trying to leave Fairbanks Provincial Park and were stranded for 24hrs until we could make repairs which we finally did with the help of local residents of Worthington. The owners of The Company Store let us camp in the parking lot of their store, lent us tools and helped with the repair. Residents who saw us stranded with damage to the trailer stopped and asked us to lodge complaints as theirs have been ignored. We lodged a formal complaint with the City of Sudbury, no response at all. Definitely the worst road and worst maintenance situation in Ontario, ask anyone who lives there!

This road has to be worst for holes crack improper maintenance. All that is done is attempts to patch over uneven hole. This make the road worst for travel. Already cost me two front bearing and tie rod end.But keep on paying high taxes.

There is more pothole filling than there is pavement . The best time to travel the road is the winter time, there are no pot holes the snow has filled them in.

all the roads within greater sudbury and its vicinity are all falling appart, its annoying to have to dodge potholes or cracking roads tokepp on the road safely. theres even a part of kelly lake road that has a rail road going accross the raod and you have to almost stop to go over the train tracks because of all the trucks that go over them day and day out.. everyone in greater sudbury probably agrees that all the roads need to be fixed properly none of these quick fixes that need to get fixed months after they were just fixed..

Numerous potholes everywhere throughout the road. This spring there was a pot hole every 3 feet down the entire street. And all the "pot hole crew" did was fill them in with cheap cement that came out 3 days later.

there is very poor drainage along this roadway, so every time it rains, the potholes that were just fixed are back. there is nothing holding the sides of the road together, which continues to crumble. Pretty soon parts of the road will disappear completely. The road is not actually a road - not wide enough for tow vehicles to pass by each other at one time...you have no choice but to move over to the side of the road and take your chances that the road doesn't come away from beneath your vehicle. VERY SCARY SITUATION. HIGH TAX AREA AS IT IS WATER FRONT, AND VERY LITTLE TO NO SERVICE.

Sinking sides of road, and so many patch jobs it's like riding on railroad ties that cannot be avoided without straddling the middle of the road and facing oncoming traffic.

Alot of the payvment along this stretch has completely eroded. The holes and cracks are too many to count. There are atleast 7 major eruptions in the road from improperly maintained culverts. Sections of the road have become so narrow there is a great risk for head on collission. If you try to hug the "shoulder" your vehicle starts to slip because there really is no shoulder. The city came out and placed 2 construction cones at 2 different culverts and did some crack filling which was an absolute joke. As you drove over the filled spots, the fill would spin and fly around. That was 2 months ago and you can no longer tell any holes or cracks we repaired. Then again how do you fill innumerable holes and cracks? Take a drive, it will be memorable. We pay enormous city taxes and have almost no services. Welcome to the GREATER city of Sudbury.

There is an enormous wide and deep hole where many have damaged their cars and this road was always a problem., and neglected in Sudbury.

Very bumpy, they patch the bumps up, but usually it doesn't last very long.

Numerous potholes and sink holes every year. Where culverts go under the road the pavement is now heaved up higher than the largest of speed bumps. Ice ridges and dams form in the winter due to the lack of proper drainage.

As a professional driver I see many bad roads however this section of Potholed, cracked, heaved and in some places dangerous as cars and trucks are bounced and tossed around is one of the worst.

potholes, patches on patches, multiple depressions, edge of pavement broken, bumps stretching completely across the road, depressions where culverts are under the road (these are filled in with slag every winter and removed in spring) road is slanted the wrong way on the hill.

I have lived in Sudbury now for just over a year, I am from Cambridge and I do not enjoy driving anymore because of how BAD Sudbury's streets are!

Like any road in Sudbury needs an explanation. Good thing we don't rely on tourism.

Put it this way...the kids on this street are safe 'cause anyone doing more then 20km/hr is gonna have serious body damage.. The road is so warped and cracked and full of potholes that it acts as one giant speed bump! Seriously needs to get fixed.

Easily the worst road I have ever been on. Like others, I will not return to Fairbanks Park because of the terrible drive. I cannot believe that the city has not fixed this route, in the interest of tourism, if not for the residents! As a resident of Peterborough, nothing in our city is close to this shocking state

Not one particular hole but a number of small uneven pavement on the edge of the road which is dangerous for bicyclists as this is a high traffic area for both bicyclists and vehicles.

This road is in very poor (terrible) condition with the following: 1) Potholes (from patches worn away); 2) The Shoulders are undone (from patches worn away); 3) Uneven Pavement (new & old); 4) Warped parts (slanted down on both sides from the middle lines OR ruts in the road); 5) Not very smooth for driving at all. In fact, most of Sudbury's roads need "facelifting". As a former resident, I hate travelling to visit family there because my car always takes a beating!!!!

Excessively rough

There are patches upon patches upon patches on this road. The whole road from the Highway 144 turnoff to Levack is a complete mess and is a danger that could cause accidents. It hasn't been fixed in years and instead of putting decent patches, they did crappy fix jobs. The construction crew did patches in the spring and now those patches need twice the work. The mayor was even out here in the spring, and still nothing done about it.

The pavement is over 25 years old and the road is full of bumps and longitudinaql gullies where tire loads have exceeded the load carrying capacity of the road probably during the spring thaw.

multiple bumps and patches and the train tracks are the worst ever ive seen in my life. there are grooves in the roads and at every stop light you have to crawl to a stop so you dont hit bottom. along with the multiple pot holes you try to avoid them and the sewer caps are sunk in so you try to avoid those too without hitting anyone.

Come and Drive the Roads and if that doesn't answer the question then I withdraw my submission
