This road has seen is fair share of cars. I vote for this street no only cause i live on it but because there are many children forced to cross this dangerous road to wait for a school bus. in the winter this road is totally dangerous with all of its holes. if we cant make a street safe for our kids then how are we to hold our heads up and feel safe. i for one want this road fixed ASAP and i dont want to see any kids get harmed cause no one in the city counsel cares for our kids they would rather stamp a rose in the road that think about safety. |

Road is full of pot holes which the city keeps putting patches on and they last approximately a week and the pothole is back. My new car is taking a beating and is starting to feel like an old car. WHO pays for the repairs which are caused by a road that had needed repair for years. A highly used road by not cars buy city buses and school buses and who pays for the repairs to the city bus - WE DO. |

This road should be 4 lanes wide from one end to the other. The manholes are all sunken in, There's more patch work then original roadway. It's just dangerous and very inefficient. The lights at First Avenue need to be smarter. They have advanced green for cars that are not even there. Which wastes 4 minutes each light change. |

| Rice Road between Quaker Road and Woodlawn Road |
The section of Rice Road between Quaker Road and Woodlawn Road is a patchwork of filled potholes. The road is bumpy & uneven. Every time a pot hole appears it is just filled in, no real concern is given to making sure the surface is smooth, the repair crews just fill in the holes and lightly tap down the asphalt, and hope that the vehicles that travel the road will pack in down even further |

| Colbeck Drive between Prince Charles Drive and Diffin Drive |
The section of Colbeck Drive which I have identified has become nothing more than a collection of interconnected patches none of which seem to come together in a singular level surface. An old-fashioned washboard would be a smoother surface on which to travel. I doubt that the road has been resurfaced since the neighbourhood was established some 50+ years ago. Certainly, it hasn't been done in recent memory. I feel sorry for the people who live on this street to say nothing of the other homeowners of the area who use this street as an access point in and out of the neighbourhood. |

| Denistoun Street between Lincoln Street and West Main Street |
This is a high population density area, being used by several school buses, city buses and delivery trucks (ie: UPS, recycling, garbage, etc.) because of the population base. Anyone who does not know this area (ie: visitors) often comment on why the city does not and has not fixed this street. It has been a matter of discussion several times at city hall meetings and it seems there are other streets, with less populations, that are getting attention way before Denistoun. I think there must be a vendetta against some of the people living in the Denistoun St. area. There is a low income housing area of the street. There are people living in the apartments that are actively in the paper stating problems with our water monitoring system, our Street situation, etc. and the city may be holding this street repair back because of these intensities. And when the street finally gets repaired, it will probably still not have curbs and fixed sidewalks. It's about high-time the residents take action against this atrocity. Try travelling this street anytime of the year, and one will get the feeling of what I am talking about. You read about other streets in the Province of Ontario that desperately needs repair, well, they should try Denistoun St., in Welland. But somehow, I think the street will still get by-passes and ignored. |

The road is not wide enough, especially in winter. We don't have sidewalks so people have to walk on the road. It is getting in worse shape every year for potholes too and the city just keeps coming and putting some hot ash in the holes which crumbles and disappears within a day or two |

How many times can a road be "patched up" ? Have lived here for over 30 years and every year we get more patches it is like driving on a wash board. When the frost comes with the cold weather out comes some of the "patch work" and the pot holes appear. |

There is an approx 25 foot section of road in the east bound lane just before Betts St that has been patched numerous times and has around 15 medium to large size potholes. The patches never last for long, when cars and trucks go down the road they make a loud thumping noise. Large trucks and trailers hit the potholes and then start to bounce on the road and it shakes my whole house so much that the pictures rattle on the walls. And the floors vibrate. There is also a section just after Betts St in the same east bound lane around a storm drain that has had numerous patches done as well and causes similar problems. |

Pot holes, cracked pavement, narrow street, high traffic volume, speeders (even though it is a posted traffic safety zone we have people traveling in excess of 70K) no police presence to enforce. No signs to denote the fact that we have a public park with lots of children in area, no safe travel for them because of absence sidewalks. Not to mention the high volume of handicapped scooter traffic. |

| Denistoun Street between and |
Denistoun has been bad for the past few years. There is 4 large Apartment buildings and 3 Townhouse Complexes on this road so there are ALOT of residents that use this road. There was construction on the water and sewage 2 years ago and all that was done was cold patch. City buses use this street and if the city closes the bridge for an event, traffic is diverted here.. we need this fixed soon. |

| Aqueduct Street N between Thorold and Niagara |
The portion of Aqueduct Street ( Thorold to Niagara) is falling apart with pot holes, eroded surfaces and edges. There are no sidewalks as speeders from other neighborhoods rush through the area without concern that its a traffic safety zone. There is no police activity to police and enforce the traffic speeding in this high risk area. There is improper signs for neighborhood parks. The city has considfered the safety issues related to this street a joke and the street is considered for the use of non residents as a priority to speed through well in excess of the speed limit ( 70km Plus) before considering the safety of the residents and children living on the street and visiting the park. A child will be injured worse in the near future because of reckless drivers. |

Ever been on an extremely bumpy roller coaster??? It is so bumpy that my vehicle sounds like it broke something. When I take my car to work I stop at the Tim Horton's (corner of Lincoln & Prince Charles) to get my morning coffee. A lot of times I cannot drink my coffee because I am nauseous from driving on Denistoun St. When coming from West Main and driving south on Denistoun I purposely drive on the wrong side because there are less bumps on that side. I sometimes take the bus (stop is on Denistoun - directly across from my residence) that in itself is quite the experience. I truly feel sorry for the bus drivers. When it is not raining out I will walk to the corner of WEst Main and Denistoun to catch the bus at the other bus stop in order to avoid the roller coster ride. When I ride my bike I ride on the sidewalk. SAFER!!! (for me anyways - not so much for pedestrians) The road is truly a hazard for drivers, bike riders, bus riders and their vehicles. Who is going to pay for repairs to my car or bike when Denistoun St continues to damage them. Shocks can only take so much. I feel that I am Baha-ing whe I drive down the street. Maybe I should invest in a four wheel drive dunebuggy??? |

| DENISTOUN STREET between and |
potholes, previous construction that was never finished, patch jobs, winter damage from ice and cars, It's the most horrible road to live on. Even the police do the avoid and swerve to get down it. Most of the time you have to drive down the centre just to be able to avoid the really bad stuff. Whenever there is a road blocked somewhere, the traffic is routed down Denistoun St. It is terrible. It is a busy road and needs to be fixed properly, no more of this cold patching! And when there is construction, the road should be completely repaved in that area. |

I recently moved onto this road, and find myself fearing for my car every time I drive down it. What I don't understand is that this road gets a heavy amount of traffic for the area, there must be a few thousand residents, a park for children, a tennis club. Why has there been no action. I challenge the mayor to drive down it. It only takes one trip on this decrepit road to realize it needs a full-blown re-paving job. |

This section of road has been broken up for years. Heavy trucks drive over it a fair bit, which probably contributes to the problem. And it's on the east side of town and doesn't get a whole lot of use, which means it's easy to ignore. This year, the city tried to patch it using tar and gravel - what a mess. And did that help? What do you think? |

Confined to two lanes in both directions which hampers traffic flow because of left and right turns. In some areas it is in a bad state of repair. |

| Broadway between and |
It has been patched & repatched, so its bumps over bumps, very hard on cars. The city of Welland should take lessons from the town of Port Colborne on many things, but the roads in Port Colborne are well maintened and repaving goes on every summer. I have not seen one street in Welland being repaved this summer. |

| Fitch Street between Price Charles Road and Merrit Street |
There are numerous potholes that have formed on this street making accelerating up the hills and braking down the hills difficult and dangerous. As well, there is constant water retention on the shoulders of the road, There are no curbs in this area and there are deteriorating ashphalt sidewalks (adjacent to Chippawa Park). |

| Hagar St. between Burgar St. and Wellington St. |
broken pavement leading to several potholes, and cracks which seems to make your car feel like your driving on a washboard at the speed limits, then hitting a large pothole to make you feel like you have to realign your suspension again. Tried to fix part closest to Burgar St. with loose gravel, seemed to work temporarily. |
