This stand-alone policy offers many unique aspects of coverage. There are two packages available: Seasonal package – for owners who use or visit their cottage a few months during the year, and the Secondary Seasonal Residence package– for those who enjoy their retreat all year ‘round.
Coverages Available:
- Seasonal package - broad coverage with replacement cost on the building contents including island cottages
- Secondary Seasonal Residence package – protects like a comprehensive homeowners policy, featuring guaranteed replacement cost on an all risks basis
- Wide range of acceptable coverage requirements - log homes, post and beam construction, up to 30 days per year rental coverage, single policy limit, wet boathouse coverage, and island cottages
- Unique coverage - damage caused by bears; personal liability on boat, motor and attached trailers for up to policyholders’ liability amount; and dock coverage (some restrictions apply)
- Special limits covers watercraft (excl. jet skis & jet propelled boats) up to $2,500, garden tractor up to $3,000, motorized garden equipment up to $10,000, and jewellery & furs up to $2,500
- Standard deductible is $200. Discount of up to 30% offered for a $500 deductible
- Up to $2,000,000 liability coverage available
- Both out-of-province and U.S. residents may be eligible
- Multiple payment options available in addition to monthly pre-authorized payments.
