Boasting some of the most unique indigenous peoples on the planet, as well as a storied history and a variety of natural landscapes that will exhaust your camera, a trip to Peru is often a life-changing experience. Peruvian festivals and holidays are among the most colourful on the planet, with thousands throughout the year and across the country. A Peru vacation is a mix of adventure and education, as outdoor pursuits and intriguing ruins will have your heart pounding and your imagination soaring. Peru is magical, exciting, awe-inspiring and mesmerizing all at once, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Peru boasts some of the most spectacular scenery in South America, with the beautiful Amazon Rainforest, an expansive coastline and the monumental Peruvian Andes - home to the ancient lost city of Machu Picchu. Peru is a large country that covers roughly 1.2 million square kilometres of land, though almost 60% of the country's land area is located within the Amazon region.
Peru's climate is greatly influenced by the Andes and the Humboldt Current. The costal region has moderate temperatures, low precipitation and high humidity. In the Andes, rain is frequent during summer and temperature and humidity diminish with altitude up to the frozen peaks. Heavy rainfall and high temperatures characterize the Amazon.
