Tuscany and Umbria

In Volterra, visit one of the most famous Etruscan museums in Italy, the Guarnaci Museum; travel the spectacular Tuscan countryside to Siena, scene of the Palio, a bareback horse race through its famous piazza; and spend two nights in Perugia , your base for exploring Umbria. Your last stop before returning to Rome is the walled city of Assisi, home to the Basilica dedicated to St. Francis.
