Your journey begins with two-nights in Paris, the vibrant capital city of France. Next experience the high speed TGV train as you travel to Strasbourg. Situated on the banks of the Rhine, picturesque Strasbourg is known for its history, culture and the channels that encircle the city center. From there explore the Alsace wine route before continuing to Wurzburg, a baroque city famed as a center of wine production. Travel down Germany's "Romantic Road" to visit the beautiful cities of Weikersheim and Rothenburg. Then visit Bamberg, a UNESCO World Heritage city reminiscent of Venice. Experience cobble-stoned squares and medieval buildings that sit alongside modern architecture in Nuremberg. The highlight of your tour is Oberammergau's Passion Play held under the canopy of the sky with the mountains as a backdrop. Experience the amazing spectacle of pageantry and music performed by the citizens of Oberammergau.

  • Paris - enjoy a panoramic tour that includes the Arch de Triomphe, Gothic Notre Dame Cathedral, Place Vendrome and the famed promenade Champs-Elysees. Your stay also includes a special dinner at the Eiffel Tower and a romantic Seine River cruise.
  • Strasbourg - includes a leisurely walking tour through the 'Old Quarter', and a local dinner to enjoy the regional cuisine. Spend a day on the Alsace Wine Route visiting the charming medieval villages of Riquewihr and Kaysersberg.
  • Wurzburg - join a local guide on a leisurely walking tour to enjoy the sights including the 18th century Residence Palace. Visit a local winery and sample some of the delicious varieties of the region.
  • Weikersheim & Rothenburg - en route to Rothenburg stop at the Renaissance city of Weikersheim. Tour the magnificent Castle, including its formal gardens, modeled after the gardens of Versailles. Continue to Rothenburg, a medieval gem, and be enchanted as you walk the cobblestone streets of the old town.
  • Bamberg - at leisure explore the charming streets, shop, or try a glass of Bamberg's "smoked beer".
  • Nuremberg - take in significant historical sites on a guided tour of the city.
  • Oberammergau - spend a morning independently exploring the picturesque Bavarian village so well known for woodcarvings and the frescoes of fairy tales, traditional Bavaria, and religious scenes found on many homes and buildings. Next experience the highlight of your tour as you witness a performance of the Passion Play. The open-air stage is large enough to hold 700 actors plus choir and a shell covers the 5,000 seat auditorium. During the break in the performance join your fellow travelers for a farewell dinner.

June 19 Your tour begins in Paris. Tonight sample the delicious French cuisine and breathtaking views during dinner at the Eiffel Tower. Following dinner an evening Seine River cruise Hotel: Marriott Rive Gauche for 2 nights
June 20 Day begins with a panoramic tour of Paris. See the Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, historic Place de la Concorde, Place Vendome and the Champs - Elysees. Afternoon is at leisure.
June 21 After breakfast depart for the TGV high-speed train to Strasbourg. Upon arrival, enjoy a leisurely walking tour of the Old Quarter. Hotel: Hilton Hotel Strasbourg for 2 nights
June 22 Spend the day visiting two charming villages of the Alsace Wine Route. First, the medieval town of Riquewihr, then historic Kaysersberg. In the evening dine at a restaurant in Strasbourg for typical regional cuisine.
June 23 Depart France for Germany and travel to Wurzburg. Upon arrival, join a local guide on a leisurely paced walking tour. Remainder of day at leisure. Hotel: Novotel Wurzburg for 3 nights
June 24 Travel the Romantic Road to visit the Renaissance city of Weikersheim. Tour Weikersheim Castle, including the Knight's Hall and the formal gardens, modelled after the gardens of Versailles. Continue to Rothenburg for a short walking tour of the old town.
June 25 Travel into the heart of Franconia for a visit to a local winery. Learn about the winemaking heritage of the region and sample some local varieties. Next depart for the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bamberg. Reminiscent of Venice, enjoy plenty of leisure time to explore, shop or try a glass of Bamberg's renowned 'smoked' beer.
June 26 En route to Oberammergau, stop in historical Nuremberg for a guided city tour. Nuremberg, with its medieval structures alongside modern architecture makes for an interesting cityscape. Tour the Rally Grounds and the Justice Palace. Take in the 900 year old ramparts surrounding the city, and the Imperial Castle. Hotel: Oberammergau or Garmisch for 2 nights
June 27 Morning at leisure to independently explore the village. This afternoon witness a performance of the Passion Play, performed by locals. During a break in the performance, join your fellow travellers for a farewell dinner.
June 28 After breakfast, tour ends.
