2009 marks the 250th anniversary of Robert Burns's birth, which inspired the Scottish Year of Homecoming. Festivals and activities throughout the year will celebrate this unique event. | July 26 | Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Make your own way to Holyrood Park* to enjoy the second day of the Highland Games. Enjoy a Welcome Drink and meet your Tour Director and fellow travelling companions at the hotel at 6pm |
| July 27 | After breakfast the morning sightseeing visits the Castle and views Holyrood House and Arthur's Seat. Also visit the Royal Mile and the 'New Town', and view the Scottish Parliament. Evening is at leisure to explore Edinburgh on your own. |
| July 28 | Enjoy a full breakfast before departing Edinburgh. Drive over the Firth of Forth to St. Andrews, home of the famous golf course. Take a picture of the 18th hole and see the ecclesiastical ruins in town before continuing via Dundee and Perth to charming Pitlochry. See Blair Castle and visit a famous whisky distillery en route to Culloden Moor, scene of the defeat of Bonnie Prince Charlie. Finally, arrive in Inverness for two nights. | July 29 | After breakfast drive along the banks of Loch Ness and stop at Urquhart Castle to see if you can spot 'Nessie'. Continue along the shores of Loch Cluanie through Glen Shiel. Next, visit Eilean Donan Castle before crossing the Kyle of Lochalsh to the Isle of Skye. Admire the beauty of the Cuillin Mountains before returning to the mainland to travel via Loch Carron back to Inverness. |
| July 30 | Enjoy a full breakfast before leaving Inverness for Glasgow. Drive past Fort William viewing Britain's highest peak, Ben Nevis, en route to Glencoe. See the Clan Memorial before a drive along the "bonnie banks of Loch Lomond" to Glasgow. Hotel: Radisson SAS for 2 nights |
| July 31 | After breakfast enjoy a tour of Glasgow visiting St. Mungo's Cathedral and viewing Clydeside, the City Chambers and George Square. Next, drive out to Alloway to see where the famous Scottish poet Robbie Burns was born. Visit Culzean Castle and country park before heading back to Glasgow. Tonight enjoy a Farewell Dinner with your Tour Director. |
