The province has spoken. CAA’s annual poll once again highlights Hamilton as needing street repairs.
Each year, CAA asks Ontario drivers, cyclists, transit riders and pedestrians which roads are most in need of improvement.
Whether it’s potholes, congestion, poor signage or inadequate cycling lanes, voters help shed light on where to make adjustments for the safety of all road users.
Here are the results of this year’s CAA Worst Roads campaign.
Barton Street East in Hamilton is voted the province's worst road for 2022.
This is the third time in five years that a Steeltown street has claimed the title.
Eglinton Avenue West in Toronto is Ontario's second-worst, followed by Barker Street in Prince Edward County.
CAA asks road users across the province where to find the worst roads in their community, allowing Ontarians to 'have their say' and a voice on which roads are in most demand of improvement.
The results highlight roads in need of repair and shine a light on the need for dedicated and consistent road infrastructure funding.
In this year's poll, voters say the three biggest issues are potholes, poor maintenance and sub-standard cycling infrastructure.
CAA plans to use that feedback to lobby politicians to increase infrastructure funding and address these road safety concerns.
