Greater Toronto Top 90 Employers

The plan:

CAA South Central Ontario (CAA SCO) was recognized in the 2010 and 2011 Top 90 Employers in the Greater Toronto Area Competitions. Employers are compared to other organizations in their fields to determine which offers the most progressive and forward-thinking programs. We aimed to also make 2012’s list.

What we’ve achieved:

  • CAA SCO was once again on the list for GTA's Top 90 Employers - the fourth year securing this accolade.
  • Criteria for the award include: Physical Workspace, Health, Financial and Family Benefits, Vacation and Time Off, Employee Communication, Performance Management, Training and Skills Development and Community Involvement.

Scholarship Programs

The plan:

The Dr. Perry E. Dolittle Educational Scholarship was established to recognize and support up to 10 well-rounded students and children of employees annually, who combine academic promise with character and leadership potential, in pursuit of post-secondary education in Canada.

In addition, our Government & Community Relations department awards one, five-year $50,000 scholarship to a student studying Transportation Engineering at the graduate level per year.

What we’ve achieved:

  • Five Dr. Perry E. Dolittle Educational Scholarships were awarded in 2012 and the program will continue for 2013.
  • The $50,000 scholarship went to a student studying solutions around transportation challenges related to congestion, the movement of people, goods, services and sustainable mobility.

Telework

The plan:

Telework aims to allow employees, where their responsibilities allow, to work from a home-based office, which means fewer vehicles on the road and fewer emissions as a result.

What we’ve achieved:

This program continued to help reduce CAA’s carbon footprint and provide employees the option to help with work/life balance.
