We now spend more time on the roads than ever before. We schlepp the kids to school, ballet, soccer, hockey, swimming and camps. Then there’s the drive to work and meetings, not to mention spending hours in traffic. The daily grind has crept its way into our daily life and it’s never going away. There’s nothing we can do about it, but there is something we can do to make certain that our cars are always running smoothly – for the commute and the uncertainties.  It’s called – car maintenance. But, it’s more than just keeping your engine and other parts in impeccable condition. It’s taking care of other areas that need attention, like your tires.

Tires are as important as any part of your car and should always be well looked after. If you follow these simple, yet key steps, you can good get use out of your tires.

Tire pressure.

Adjust tires to the car manufactures specs – normally located on the driver’s door jam sticker. Do not use the max pressure indicated on the tires sidewall.

Rotate your tires.

You should rotate your tires every 10,000km’s – this will extend their life.

If you are experiencing handling problems or your vehicle is pulling in one direction over the other then you should get your wheel alignment checked out.

If your tires look worn or have uneven wear, visit a CAA Approved Auto Repair Service facility for a thorough vehicle inspection.
