YOLO! You’ve heard the expression; you may have said it yourself. You Only Live Once. For many of us, it means living life to the fullest by creating memorable experiences.  It’s probably why so many of us rank taking a vacation as a high priority. It’s also why so many people engage in thrill-seeking activities while on vacation – “when else will we ever get the chance to try something like this?”, we ask ourselves. Not all travel insurance providers understand this. So, it’s a breath of fresh air to see that some travel insurance companies are actually listening and reacting to our changing needs. Take the two new riders recently introduced by CAA Travel Insurance.

The new adventurous air activities rider lets thrill-seekers get carried away!1

Maybe your dream is to parasail over the turquoise Caribbean waters. Or perhaps you’ve always wanted to take a hot-air balloon ride high above France. Have you played it safe in the past, for fear of not being insured? Or maybe you actually signed a waiver and did these things, not knowing if you were really covered. Well, here’s something comforting to know. While standard travel insurance policies typically don’t cover these types of activities, an optional Adventurous Air Activities Rider on your CAA Travel Insurance policy gives you coverage up to $5 million!2 So take off and make those amazing vacation memories. Just be sure to take lots of photos – you might not be brave enough to do it again!

Pre-existing medical conditions don’t have to stop you from travelling.

Not being able to take a vacation because of an existing medical condition can be disappointing, especially if you’re a snowbird who is used to heading south for warmth in the winter.  Unfortunately, most travel insurance providers won’t cover an existing medical condition unless it’s been stable for three months — or even six — before travelling.

The new Pre-existing Medical Condition Rider1 offered by CAA Travel Insurance has cut that time down to just SEVEN days before your trip. So, say you are recovering from a stroke or a heart attack, and have been on new medication for one month. Most insurers would label your condition as “unstable” and wouldn’t cover it. But with CAA’s Pre-Existing Medical Condition Rider, if you’ve been taking your new medication for at least seven days prior to your departure date and you’re doing well, you’d be covered.

Having the right features and options on your travel insurance coverage can make a big difference. It can affect how much fun you have on vacation, or if you can go on vacation at all. Fortunately, CAA Travel Insurance is making the travel we seek a possibility for many more of us.
