Spring has sprung, and with it comes a feeling of all things new: bright pops of colourful flowers, the scent of fresh cut grass, and a sense of anticipation for what lies ahead. While this is a time many of us get busy planting, mowing and painting outside our homes, we often don’t realize how easy it is to introduce spring décor inside our homes too. Here are some simple ways to bring touches of spring into your home.

Let the fresh air in.

After a long winter of being cooped up, the arrival of spring means it’s finally time to let the old air out and the fresh air in. If you’re lucky, the spring air will bring in the happy sounds of birds and crickets chirping. Before you throw open your windows to welcome in spring though, check your window screens. If you see holes or your frames look mishappen, head online to Home Hardware or Rona for replacements. If you’re a CAA Member, you’ll earn rewards for shopping at these e-stores.

Create a grand entrance.

Your front door décor is a great way to announce the changing of seasons. Ring in spring in full colour by creating a wreath of colourful spring flowers. Not sure where to start? Pinterest has all kinds of inspiration online. First, select a look and then follow HGTV’s tutorial on how to make one.

Bring nature in.

Flowers and plants are an inexpensive way to introduce spring décor throughout your home: tuck a fresh flower into napkin rings when entertaining; display flowers on your stairs, in your hall, bathrooms and on dining or kitchen tables; use little pots of herbs to prop up seating place cards for guests. Get creative and use mason jars, bowls, watering cans or pitchers as containers. Or, if you prefer a more traditional type of vase, Stokes and Bouclair have a wide selection and special savings for CAA Members.

Bring spring to your walls.

Viva Magenta is this year’s Pantone colour, but if vibrant pink isn’t your thing, House Beautiful suggests colours like bright orangey reds, amber, jewel tones and beiges with a hint of blush will also be on-trend. Need expert advice? Head to your local Dulux® Paints store – if you’re a CAA Member, you’ll save and earn rewards on your purchase. Not a DIY-er? Pick a shade and let Certa Pro Painters do the work. As a CAA Member, you’ll save with them too.

Swap flowers for fruit and brighten up a table.

Fruit doesn’t have to be just for eating. Assemble a bunch of limes or lemons in a glass bowl and let them make a vibrant statement in the middle of your table. Too busy to run out and buy them? INABUGGY delivers fresh groceries in as little as an hour and CAA Members save on delivery fees.
