As the impact of the pandemic persists, many Ontarians are feeling its financial effects. CAA Insurance is continuing to provide both auto and home insurance policyholders with meaningful relief to help manage expenses during these challenging times.

To-date CAA Insurance Company has helped policyholders by providing over $130 million in rate relief during the pandemic. 

As driving habits have been affected by the pandemic, we continue to look at every possible way to help you save money on your insurance. 
CAA MyPace™, Canada’s only pay-as-you-drive insurance payment program is one of those ways. Compared to a traditional policy CAA MyPace saves low-mileage drivers up to 50 per cent, and there are no fees or penalties for switching back to traditional insurance.

We encourage all Ontarians to speak to their insurance agent or broker about ways to save. It is important to have an ongoing dialogue with your insurance agent or broker to explore all the ways you can save on your policy premiums.

COVID-19 Relief Efforts FAQs

In 2020 and 2021, CAA Insurance led the insurance industry with rate reductions and financial relief, providing over $130MM in rate relief during the pandemic.

CAA Insurance provided a rate reduction on both auto and home policies for the duration of a 12-month policy term. Plus, several relief payments to active Ontario auto insurance policyholders. It was the only insurance company to provide a rate reduction on property polices.

A licensed CAA Insurance Agent or CAA Broker can show you ways to adjust your coverage to reflect your reduced driving and lower your insurance costs. Consider the following:

  • If you are no longer commuting daily, you could consider changing your coverage from commuting to pleasure use?
  • Is there a car that isn’t being used at all that could have coverage reduced?
  • Would you save from bundling your CAA Auto and Home Insurance?
  • Are you a CAA Member? While you don’t have to be one to get CAA Insurance, CAA Members save up to 20% on CAA Auto Insurance and 10% on CAA Property Insurance (in addition to receiving other perks and benefits).
  • Would you benefit from changing to CAA MyPace, Canada's first pay-as-you-go auto insurance payment plan? This is an ideal option for low mileage drivers.
