Alaskan cruise.

Alaska, USA

One of my most memorable trips was an Alaskan cruise from Vancouver to Anchorage; I just can't say enough about seeing this area of the world. The cruise took us through Glacier Bay to several ports along the coast. My favourite was Skagway, a historic town that remains the same as it did in 1898 at the height of the Gold Rush.

Insider tip: If you have questions about the wildlife or glaciers, be sure to talk to the helpful, informative park rangers while they're on board your ship.

Helsinki Harbour.

Finland is one of my favourite places to visit. I fell in love with the amazing blend of old and new, as 12th century buildings are scattered amongst modern architecture. On the west coast, you'll find the beautiful port city of Turku, home to Turun Linna, a popular museum housed in a castle built in the 11th century.

Insider tip:  If you visit Helsinki in the spring and summer months, you'll find a lively outdoor market at the Kauppatori (Market Square) where you can find cafes, local foods, and all sorts of unique goods.

Hawaii is made up of a collection of islands, each beautiful and exotic, and yet quite different. This allows you to visit lush tropical scenery, lively tourism hotspots and remote secluded beaches, all in the same trip.

Insider tip:  Papakōlea Beach on the Big Island of Hawaii is seldom crowded as it is only accessible by foot and is one of only four green sand beaches in the world.
