Lisbon.

Portugal

I was born in Portugal, so I have a deep connection with this beautiful country. Portugal offers history, beaches, mountains, food, wine and islands. The people are warm, friendly and welcoming. Lisbon, Portugal’s capital, is sunny for nearly 300 days out of the year and is just a half hour away from the beach. Visit the Castle of St. George or the Street of the Fado singers! Porto, in the north, is a popular choice for river cruises, and Algarve, in the south, is known for beaches, fish cuisine and resort living.

Insider tip: Visit the Douro Valley for magical landscapes and for the port wines produced on its hillsides.

Havana.

Cuba

Cuba is a unique destination, famous for classic American cars, music, mojitos and cigars. Those are just a few of the things that come to mind when we think of Cuba. Visit Havana and take a tour in a vintage automobile, see some of the best live music of your life, marvel at the Baroque and Neoclassical architecture and savour the food. Cuba is an unparalleled experience.

Insider tip: The internet is not available everywhere in Cuba. You might as well just go with it and live like you did before we were permanently connected to our smartphones.

British Columbia.

Canada

Some of the most beautiful places in the world are right here in Canada. Western Canada has breathtaking landscapes, diverse wildlife and stunning greenery for miles and miles. Visit Vancouver Island, the city of Vancouver, Banff National Park, Jasper National Park and Lake Louise.

Insider tip: A great way to see a lot of the western Canadian beauty is aboard the Rocky Mountaineer. This is a luxury rail experience you won’t forget!
