When you join CAA, you’re not simply joining a service; you’re joining a family of Members, Associates and others who go above and beyond to help out whenever they can.

A man and a woman are holding a bag of food.

Our everyday heroes go the extra mile when Members are in need.

Associates are always excited to show off this spirit and proud to share stories that celebrate everyday heroes in the CAA community. These are just some of the ways, big and small, they help to make the world a better place.

  • Like many CAA Associates, Kayla, a store Associate, formed a close bond with a Member. So when Kayla found out that the Member’s son had passed away, she sent her a sympathy package to show her that she was thinking of her.

  • When a Member was dealing with a flooded house after an intense rainstorm in Toronto, Wendy, an Associate, offered her home. Knowing that the Member and her spouse were handicapped and needed special accommodations, Wendy rearranged her home, which had an accessible washroom, to make more space. Due to delays in insurance repairs, the couple ended up staying with Wendy for almost eight months.

  • Another Associate, Amanda, offered a Member the use of her family’s trailer after she saw on the news that this Member had lost his own trailer – and everything he owned – to a fire. She also helped him with food and water until another community organization took over.

  • On one occasion, a Member missed their flight. After being alerted, the Associate called the Member to find out what had happened. When the calls weren’t picked up, the Associate called the building management for the Member’s home, who discovered it was a medical emergency and called 911.

  • Cynthia, an Associate who works as a CAA Travel Consultant in Belleville, Ont., was instrumental in making arrangements to get a Belleville Senators hockey jersey signed by all the players for four-year-old Lincoln, who has brain cancer. Associates from the CAA Store in Belleville presented the jersey to the young Belleville Senators fan, who was delighted with his gift.
