From a trio of area waterfalls to the sandy shoreline of Sauble Beach, the Bruce Peninsula is the perfect summer escape.

Itinerary

Day 1

Start your adventure at Inglis Falls located just outside of Rockfort on Highway 6. An ideal vantage point to take everything in is on the viewing platform to the side of the falls. You'll be so close to the rushing water, you'll get the added bonus of enjoying a refreshing mist.

Just 15-minutes away you'll find Indian Falls – a horseshoe shaped waterfall named after the Newash Indian tribe who lived in this area.

Finish your exploration of waterfalls near Springmount with a visit to Jones Falls. Stand back in awe as you watch the water cascade over the escarpment to the Pottawatomi River that flows into Owen Sound Bay.

Plan to stay the night in Owen Sound. Take an evening stroll through the historic downtown area or watch the sunset along its expansive harbour.

Day 2

Spend the day basking in the sun and swimming in the refreshing waters of Lake Huron at Sauble Beach. For an authentic taste of summer, take a stroll up the beach and stop for a burger straight off the BBQ at The Beach Burger.

If it's a Saturday and you’d rather spend the morning like a local, head to the nearby town of Oliphant for their farmer's market (be sure to try the local fudge).

Continue north to Red Bay and visit Earthbound Gardens, a garden centre where you can relax or enjoy an evening show of local music. Stroll the gardens and take in some local artwork. Stay for the sunset or take a detour and stop in Wiarton, home to Wiarton Willie, Canada's famous weather-predicting groundhog.

Return home or continue north towards Tobermory.
