Save with CAA Connect

CAA Connect gives drivers the ability to track their driving habits online and take advantage of special savings on their CAA Auto Insurance premium. The safer you drive, the more you save! Here’s what it takes to maximize your discount:

  • Drive less than 12,000 km per year
  • Avoid speeding
  • Avoid driving between 12:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m.

Getting Started with CAA Connect

Using CAA Connect is simple. Just plug the device into your vehicle’s OBD II port. CAA Connect will then begin wirelessly transmitting your driving information to a secure server, which you can review from the CAA Connect online portal or via the mobile app.

  • Are all vehicles compatible with CAA Connect?

    Are all vehicles compatible with CAA Connect?

    The device is compatible with most vehicles that were manufactured in 1997 or later.

    Some makes and models do not qualify, such as electric vehicles and diesel vehicles manufactured in 2005 or earlier.

  • How do I enrol in CAA Connect?

    How do I enrol in CAA Connect?

    If you are new to CAA Insurance, simply call 1-888-250-1890 or visit a local CAA Store for an auto insurance quote and to learn about the benefits and savings available through CAA.

    If you are currently insured with CAA Insurance, call 1-877-222-1717 for more information, or contact your local insurance Broker.

  • What happens once I enrol?

    What happens once I enrol?

    You’ll receive a welcome package containing your CAA Auto Insurance policy along with a copy of the Terms and Conditions.

    In a separate package, you’ll receive your device along with simple installation instructions. Once you’ve installed the device, to begin viewing your driving activity you can log on to our mobile app or visit www.connectwithcaa.com up to 72 hours after the initial installation. Continue to visit the website or app daily for up-to-date information, tips and driving score updates.

  • Is there a cost to enrol?

    Enrolling in CAA Connect is absolutely free. Plus, you’ll receive a 5% discount on your first year’s CAA Auto Insurance premium when you do!

    After one policy year, you may be eligible to save up to 15% on your CAA Auto Insurance renewal based on your driving behaviours!

  • Will my CAA Auto Insurance premiums go up on renewal as a result of the data captured?

    Will my CAA Auto Insurance premiums go up on renewal as a result of the data captured?

    No. Your rates will not be increased by enrolling in CAA Connect.

    At renewal, the data collected would only be used to qualify you for additional discounts based on your safe driving behaviour and your ongoing enrolment. CAA Connect is about recognizing and rewarding drivers that consistently demonstrate safe driving behaviours. This will now allow drivers to participate in individualized savings.

  • How does a user view their potential savings and driving behaviours?

    How does a user view their potential savings and driving behaviours?

    You will be able to access your data via our secure portal, www.connectwithcaa.com, or the new CAA Connect App. Access to the data will be granted to you once you become a program participant. Data will appear on the portal within 48 to 72 hours of your first journey.

  • What is the driving score?

    What is the driving score?

    The driving score is a tool to help you monitor your driving behaviours and predict your potential renewal discount. The score is determined by using your driving data (annual mileage, driving speed, and the time of day of the trip) to calculate a score out of 100. The higher you score, the more you save!

    For technical support regarding your device or mobile application, please call 1-844-266-6320.

  • Can I opt out of CAA Connect at any time?

    Can I opt out of CAA Connect at any time?

    Yes, you can opt out at any time during your policy term by calling 1-877-222-1717, or by contacting your local insurance Broker. The 5% enrolment discount will be removed from your policy at the same time.

    In the event you withdraw from the Program, CAA will continue to use the Data collected from the Device for analytics and rate filing purposes with the Financial Services Commission of Ontario.

    CAA Insurance makes your personal driving data available to you through CAA’s online portal or our mobile app as a way for you to monitor and improve your driving behaviour.

    CAA Connect collects the data necessary to determine whether drivers qualify for additional discounts based on demonstrating safe driving behaviours.
