Make sure you’re aware of what claims aren’t covered: Certain things such as planned procedures, routine checkups, or unstable pre-existing medical conditions are not covered by insurance and therefore would be denied if a claim was submitted.
Read and fill out the medical questionnaire very carefully: If you forget to include a certain health condition, this could lead to a void of your policy, everything including long term and unused prescriptions must be disclosed.
