Why do I need health insurance when I have OHIP coverage?
The Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) may not cover routine medical expenses, such as dental care, prescription drugs and vision care. CAA Health and Dental Insurance can help protect you from potentially costly and unexpected medical expenses.
Are dental insurance and health insurance the same?
Dental insurance plans and health insurance plans are similar. You (or your employer, in the case of a group plan) pay a monthly premium for dental coverage. Your insurance provider then pays all or part of your qualified dental expenses, up to the maximum amount covered in your policy.
How much does dental insurance cost per month?
The premiums for dental insurance plans vary according to what services they provide and how much coverage you choose. You can mix and match different levels of drug and dental coverage so that you only pay for what you actually need.
How can I customize my health insurance plans?
You’re always in control of your health insurance coverage. You can choose from a variety of options to customize your plan, such as mixing and matching different levels of drug and dental coverage, so you only pay for what you and your family actually need.
If I add my children or spouse to my health and dental insurance plans, do I get special rates?
Yes, you can take advantage of reduced rates for couples when you include your spouse on your insurance plan, and even more substantial savings for families with three kids or more.
Does CAA Health Insurance cover the cost of brand-name prescription drugs?
Yes, add Dental 3 to your CAA Extended Health Care (EHC) plan to help cover the cost of eligible prescription drugs, including 90% of expenses for brand-name or generic drugs.
How can I get dental coverage for dentures or braces?

How can I get insurance to cover dental implants?

If you’ve lost a tooth due to illness, some plans may cover the cost of dental implants up to the maximum amount covered in your policy. If you’ve lost a tooth due to an injury sustained by an accident, a dental implant might fall under an accident insurance policy or a medical plan.
I wear glasses. Am I covered for vision benefits? Laser vision eye surgery in particular?
